Plummer block housings are manufactured in a split design with different seals, depending on the application.
The SN series is designed for grease lubrication only.
The SNL series can be used for grease lubrication as well as for oil lubrication.
NKF offers the following plummer block housing series:
For the use of self aligning ball bearings or spherical roller bearings with a cylindrical bore
SN /SNL 2
SN /SNL 3
For the use of self aligning ball bearings or spherical roller bearings with conical bore and adapter sleeve
SN /SNL 5
SN/ SNL 6
Our plummer block housings are mainly manufactured in gray cast iron GG20. For applications with higher loading requirements, the housings can be cast in ductile cast iron GGG40 or cast steel GS45.
The coating applied to DIN EN ISO 12944-2 gives the housing the required corrosion protection.
Depending on the application, a wide variety of sealing designs can be used.
NKF offers the following seals:
TSN … C (felt ring seal) – standard equipment
TSN … G (double lip seal)
TSN … S (labyrinth seal)
ASNH … (end cover)
Alternative sealing variants, such as Taconite or seals for oil lubrication, can be proofed on request.
The connection dimensions for plummer block housings of the SN series comply with DIN 736 / DIN 739 / ISO 113, the SNL series comply with DIN 736 / DIN 737 / ISO 113.
