Spherical roller bearings are particularly suitable for applications with shaft deflection and / or misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing.
They consist of a solid outer ring with double row, concave raceways, a solid inner ring with a cylindrical or tapered bore as well as barrel rollers with a cage. The symmetrical barrel rollers on the concave outer ring raceway adjust themselves and thus compensate. They are able to support extremely high radial loads and can support axial loads in both directions at the same time.
Bearings of series 222 to 232 with a tapered bore (suffix K) have a bore taper of 1:12. All other series have a bore taper of 1:30.
