Four point contact ball bearings belong to the single row radial angular contact ball bearings.
The raceway shoulders are designed in such a way that high axial loads in both directions as well as low radial loads can be supported.
They consist of solid outer rings, split inner rings and ball-cage assemblies with brass or polyamide cages. Thanks to the split inner ring, many balls can be accommodated, which gives the bearing a high loading capacity. In addition, the outer ring with the ball-cage assembly can be installed separately from the split inner ring.
The bearings require significantly less space than two-row versions. In order to be able to fit larger four-point bearings quickly and securely in the housing, they have two retaining slots in the outer ring offset by 180° (suffix N2).
